Standstill

Infinite Spirit:
Help me realize that moving blindly forward
may not be in my best interest since I may simply be moving in circles.
Grant me wisdom to know when to come to a standstill
and take note of where I am, where I have come from,
the direction in which I am heading
and the lessons I've learned along the way.
Grant me the patience to wait, knowing when the time is right,
I will once again move forward.
Let me use this standstill to appreciate the beauty that surrounds me
and to come to a greater understanding of the many gifts you've given me.
Help me use this time of inactivity to replenish the reserves
of body, mind, emotion and spirit.
Let me use this time to learn from those around me
lessons I might not have had the opportunity to learn
had I not stopped along the way.

SO BE IT.
