We of the RSWG of Voices for a New Tomorrow recognize that there are those spiritual communities that believe that each individual's spiritual path is unique and sacred. These communities therefore cannot endores a particular statement or statements for their members without violating the very beliefs they follow. However, it is still possible to support the Ten Affirmations while allowing individual members freedom of choice. We offer the following alternative wording of support as an example if your group feels unable to complete the standard endorsement statement. (This statement was provided by The Religious Society of Friends, Pittsburgh Monthly Meeting, and can be adapted for your organization.) "The Religious Society of Friends, Pittsburgh Monthly Meeting, unites in this Minute to express its agreement with the Ten Affirmations for Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Trasngendered (GLBT) Spirituality. The Affirmations as a whole reflect our long-held belief that there is that of God in everyone. We look forward to working with other religious communities in the Pittsburgh area towards further recognizing and affirming the inherent rights of each person in the GLBT community. At the same time, we will continue to promote meaningful paths for spiritual exploration and expression for all."
