Greetings! And blessings to you and yours!

If you're at this page, then chances are you're either curious as to what a separation ceremony is or you've reached the conclusion that your committed relationship has reached an end and are looking for an amicable way to do that.

I was inspired to begin to offer this service after reading about Bishop Gene Robinson's story. Bishop Robinson is the first openly gay Bishop of the Episcopal church and when he came out to his wife, they had a ceremony in which they both released each other from the marriage vows they had taken years earlier. Such a loving and peaceful resolution to what is often a painful time in one's life is such a wonderful idea!

In short, a divorce/separation ceremony is rather like a wedding in reverse whereby each individual states his/her clear intent to release the other(s) from the vows they took at their wedding/commitment ceremony. Such a release is often spiritually soothing to those involved because they're not left feeling as if they violated the vows they made to each other or were untrue to their word.

PLEASE NOTE: This ceremony has NO legal standing in any court in the US. It is NOT a legal divorce and does NOT enable an individual to be free of legal obligations s/he might have with respect to child support, division of property, etc. Nor does it render an individual free to legally marry. This is a SPIRITUAL ceremony only and those involved, if legally married, MUST file for a civil divorce in order to be legally divorced and free to remarry.

I do not charge for any of my ministerial services. My own personal beliefs require that I freely make available the information that has been freely given to me. I don't believe that it's fair, just or moral that only those with the extra money to afford to pay for seminars or a minister's services should be allowed to marry or receive spiritual counseling. Bottom line is that I leave any monetary remuneration to the discretion of those involved. As a guideline for those who feel so moved, pay what you can afford or what you feel it was worth.

For those who don't live in PA or who live quite a distance from me, my ability to perform your ceremony will depend on my own financial situation due to gas prices and the possible need to spend the night due to distance.
